Cinnamon to lighten up!

So, I made a rule with myself. I will not get my hair done until I find a job. So being the resourceful gal that one must be, I researched, and researched, and tried and tested.

After having an extremely messy, and yummy, attempt with yogourt, cinnamon, honey and lemon - it was just too messy and I really did not have confidence in it. So, I made a paste with conditioner and cinnamon and brushed it through my hair and put my hair in a bun and left it for a few hours. My hair is lighter and it is so incredibly soft, and it smells good. I will do a few of these over the next few weeks to see what happens. I will let you know.

Any other hints from anyone? I also have put cammomile tea and lemon juice in a spray bottle and spray it in my hair after I wash it.

If this works, I am so happy! And it is way better for you, smells great, is completely natural and costs next to nothing.

Highlights. Just highlights. I need to lighten up!

Well, it is another day in Paris, and just went I thought used-car salesman and insurance brokers were the biggest husslers, I have no encountered the French hair salons. I do not have a job yet, and more than anything, when my hair starts to lose its blonde, I start to fade at a pace that is much faster. So, off I went to find a salon to spend my pennies and get some brightening therapy.

I ask for highlights and apparently you pay extra on top for brushing, shampooing, cream after the colour, God, for all I know, I will have to pay for the chair and extra for the person to actually do my hair. When I mentioned, more than once, to more than one salon, that I simply want color, I felt like I was telling them I had a gun in my pocket. I HATE having my hair "done", or fancy creams and all that jazz, so why is it their business if I just want some damn highlights.

So, I quit my investigative work, and off I went to an Organic store to check out color-in-a-box to debate doing my own hair. I didn't do any heat of the moment coloring as the lady at the store suggested I wait a few more months to use natural color as I have had my hair colored before.

Any comments on this? Is it a mistake to think I can color my own hair? Will I look crazy with a full head of blonde?

Please send me your thoughts, I really appreciate it.

MY TUMMY could be your tummy

********** I just realized this never published and it still a very important topic for me, so I will update you.
I still take probiotics everyday. I have decided that the best thing to do is to alternate between a few different ones, because like anything, getting used to one thing specifically only makes us immune to it. So, I am on a constant rotation of Dr. Ohirra's Original Formula Probiotics. They are not very strong, as far as the count of strains etc, but they are very high quality, vegetarian, fermented and do not have to stay in the fridge. They are not cheap, but they are worth it.

http://www.drohhiraprobiotics.com/

I found mine on sale at www.mynaturalmarket.com - HOWEVER NOW THAT I AM IN FRANCE I CANNOT FIND THESE!!! I AM SO FRUSTRATED BY THE VITAMIN?SUPPLEMENT REGULATIONS HERE!!!! IF YOU HAVE ANY TIPS, PLEASE HELP. I am debating even going to the UK or Netherlands for a weekend, just to load up on my B12, Vit C, Probiotics etc.

So, other than the Dr. Ohhira, I also use other Probiotics that are higher in strains/count. If you have read any of my previous posts, I used to get cold sores all the time. Since taking these probiotics, knock on wood, I havent had any. It is honestly incredible. I believe that I am absorbing more nutrients and although I am still not digesting like a normal person, IE, going to the washroom regularly (I have decided I am going to be extremely open on this blog) I have definitely been feeling better. Another major problem that I suffer/ed was not feeling full and eating a stupid amount of food. These probiotics have helped me feel more satisfied with my food, because I am absorbing the nutrients.

Let me know how all of this goes for you.

I have had digestive issues for a very long time. After speaking to many people about this, I feel like EVERYONE has digestive issues. I have tried alot of things, including digestive enzymes, massages, special drinks, taking things out of my diet - like gluten, etc.

I was always told to stay away from bananas because they can "bung you up" - to quote a few. And then I read an article about the inulin in bananas. So, lately, I wake up, have my BIO-K probiotic and about an hour later I have a banana. I must say, without having to tailor my diet to much and still being able to indulge regularly on my favorites, I feel a huge difference in my system.  If you arent aware of BIO-K, check it out - it is expensive and has become a big expense for me, but its cheaper than a latte!

Like everything else I say, I am not sure if this is special to me, but I know I got to a point of desperation and would try many peoples ideas, so, maybe this will help you?

Let me know

a new start

Wow,

Well, this sure is a new start for me. I am hoping to get back into writing. For many reasons, but mostly at this point, to keep me busy and sane while looking for a job, adjusting to a new culture, language, and relationship.

I have moved to Paris. Just like that.

It is a little overwhelming, but I know I can do it.

I have been sussing out restaurants, shops etc, but my most interesting experience so far has been trying to match my daily routines in Canada with certain vitamins, supplements, bath routines and essential oils, with my life here. The rules and regulations here are so incredibly insanely strict that it continues to blow my mind. Just when I think I have understood it, I go looking for something else and find out you can't get it here. Simple example, Epsom Salts. Salts for a bath. SALTS for a BATH! I cannot find them here. This list could get very long, but at the moment I have made a rule with myself that by 11am I will preparing to head out for a walk to explore a new part of the city, before I find myself looking at the clock at 2pm, or should I say 14:00 and realizing I still havent exited my pjs.

So, I will write more later.
I am off to explore, and probably eat some bread and macarrons.

I thought I lost my blog, and am very happy to be back here, and find comfort in writing.

Oh, I also hope to find a job in my exploring. This place aint cheap.
