I have just gone through some posts and found this one. Do I have so news for you.
I have discovered Carrot Oil.
I use it every morning. Nothing else. I use Almond or Avocado oil to remove my mascara and other than that, in the morning I always finish my shower with freezing cold water and then splash my face with freezing cold water again and put on carrot oil and my skin has never been better. You get a little bit of colour on your face as well due to the carotene but my face is clear, CLEAR, nothing!!!! I also feel like my little bit of aging that I was seeing has settled.
I am sure you can buy it at a health food store, mine I bought at Monoprix here in France. If you can find an organic carrot oil, it is best. MELVITA makes one which I am sure is fantastic!
I really hope this helps. It has changed my life!!!
As I am writing this i realize that my previous post was about help with Sleep. I am sure they are linked somewhere, but to be honest, I am so fed up with this. My skin has been so bad, I feel like a 14 year old going through puberty. I have researched every single thing there is to research in regards to adult acne, and nothing is working. And to be honest, I am sick of spending money and having high hopes.
Does anyone have any suggesitons for me? I am more than open to them. please help!
My neck is the worst, but there are a few breakouts on my forehead and cheeks. I do alot of hot yoga and am sure this doesnt help, but other people work out and dont get acne, and there are plenty of people in my classes with glowing skin.
HELP!
all suggestions are 100% appreciated. T|hank you.

help with sleep!!!
So, I have recently started a new job. It feels like either a. someone who I have totally fallen in love with but more like b. a really bad break up. I mean that in the best of ways of course. I love the job, well, love...strange word. But it is challenging and great! I have learned so much already. But my problem is I wake up at random hours and all I can think about is my job. Is this normal? Do you have advice for me?
There has been so much going on in my life that I have had no time to write about anything. I tried so many great new restaurants, hotels, b&bs etc. I will get back to this soon. It really hasnt been as consistant as I was hoping, but it will, one day, when the time is right.
Maybe when I get my first comment it will motivate me to write more. Let me know.
Happy week.

the GLADSTONE HOTEL still isnt breakfast worthy....
So, I have gone to THE GLADSTONE HOTEL a few times for Sunday brunch, and keep remembering why I don't go there more often. I am never totally happy with my food, nor the service. I just ran to meet a friend there for brunch.
It took about 30 minutes before the waiter finally saw our wave to put in our order - that being said, the staff are sweet, but just a little clueless. I ordered a simple breakfast, bacon and eggs. I asked that my poached eggs are soft, they were rock hard, and to be honest, in this day and age, get off the thin sliced bread and get into some delicious homemade multigrain bread. None was really too great - and very expensive. Bacon and eggs should not run over 12 bucks, completely unnecessary!
Let me know if you think otherwise.
thanks,
Chick Pea
Where is the best place for brunch in Toronto? I still have yet to find my fav.

WESTERN UNION IS A SCAM!!!
So, I am livid. I sent money using WESTERN UNION to someone. SOmeone else picked it up. AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE!!! CAN you believe it? THey cannot track it or anything. What kind of system is that. I thought the point of money transfers is that they are secure. This makes no sense to me at all. Such a joke.
No way to get my money back.
I was supposed to go on holiday. So much for that.
Any suggestions?

GROUPON RIP OFFS!
I don't know how many of you receive daily emails for groupon, living social, daily deal etc. But, basically, these are websites that offer deals on a daily basis for everything from food, drinks, clothes, hair, yoga etc.
I have a quick comment about yoga studios who are taking part. As you know, I practice alot of Bikram Yoga and it is my biggest expense, other than rent. Some studios have done these coupons and open them to everyone, people new to the studio, and regular customers, as they should. Why shouldnt the regular customers get a deal as well? We have to deal with the influx of new students and we spend so much money, it would be nice to get a break.
Bikram Yoga Montreal just launched a GROUPON today for new students only. Total scam. Now I have to deal with all the new students and know they got a great deal while I am paying the most I pay there, plus, they have the tightest expiry date. I wish there was another studio in Montreal so I wouldnt have to keep supporting this greedy studio.
I am still waiting for the day they will extend my passes. 3 months? really? No other studio is that tight.
thanks. im frustrated. But I wont let it ruin my Spring day!

MY COLD SORE SOLLUTION
So I was just browsing on the BBC site and saw all this info about COLD SORES. This will be brief, and hopefully to the point. I struggled with cold sores for years. I spent many many days and sometimes weeks walking with my eyes to the ground, wearing scarfs to try cover my face, feeling awful and ugly, not socializing, and on and on. I hated the weeks that I had cold sores. Often triggered by changes in weather, stress, and sometimes, no idea why, I was at my wits end. I tried all the expensive drugs, natural products, creams, pills, patches etc.
And then, my friend who is a nutritionist, suggested I take B6. Now, this may have only worked for me, but I took it for a while on a daily basis, which I later read is not good for you, but when I feel like I may be in a situation to get a cold sore, I take B6, as well as use my GREEN BEAVER face cream, and I have not had one in months! I have not had one all winter, and for those who suffer from them, you know winter is the worst time of year.
On top of that, I also tried every single lip cream/gloss/stick you can find. I have to say, I have gone back to my every day CARMEX. It is the only one that actually relieves my chapped lips - with all the flying and hotel air, dry lips are common, and a often can cause a cold sore. It keeps them moist, doesn't have any smelly fruity stench (some do but I buy the regular one), and also, buy the one that you don't have to dip your dirty finger into.
So, to those suffering, give it a try. Please. I hope it helps you. From my experience, take it in the morning, with food. When I have taken it later in the day I cannot sleep at night.
I really hope this helps someone out there because I know how awful they are.
bbye for now!

LE LOCAL in MOntreal, not impressed
If it wasn't for the great company I had, I would have not been happy at all. I went to LE LOCAL for dinner in Old Montreal. Apparently this is the place to be for dinner. Yes, the space is beautiful and airy with exposed brick and all that fancy stuff - and an open kitchen which I often enjoy and trust. However, even though, yes, the food was yummy, the service left us forgetting about the food and only concentrating on how much we paid. What a shame.
We asked for suggestions from the waiter who simply said what he likes best, no questions as to our expectations, likes or wants. He told us the special was sweet bread, whats that?
I then decided, since we were located right next to the kitchen and prep tables, to pop my head over and ask for their suggestions. They looked at me as if I had just told them their car was side swiped. They barely had answers for me, and when I asked what their specialties were or what they can't keep in stock, no answers at all. There was NO way to get an answer.
I settled on the salmon tartar with truffle oil as a starter. Was good, but I didn't taste the truffle oil at all. The duck leg was yummy, but when I had to pop my head over to the kitchen again for something spicy to add, lets say they chop up some chillies and add some olive oil and herbs, they passed me a plastic bottle of Chinese hot sauce and Tabasco. Not sure I felt like ruining my dinner with those - and they shouldn't have wanted me to.

In all of this, we had four waiters, nobody concentrating on us and knowing what we had or wanted. Yes, the wine was good, but we did the pouring and clearing of space. One waiter was a little more impressive, but overall, our final discussion was IF we should even tip.
Sad ending to a delicious night.

QUEBEC CITY in the snow
I have not been writing at all, I am so busy, and really just do not feel like it, to be honest. I hope soon I will get the buzz to just write non-stop, all the time. But, I will stay, I am at HOTEL PUR, and it has been snowing like crazy, and if you are worried of feeling a little cabin fever-ish while on the road, this pool and sauna will save you. Although the hours are not very good, at all, 7am-12 and 5pm-9, it still makes for a good escape. Sauna is toasty warm and you don't have to go and turn it on and wait for an hour like many hotels. The pool is nice and big, and just when you think those windows are tinted, they arent, so don't flaunt in front of them like I did.
I am still using the GREEN BEAVER face cream and the DERMA E TEA TREE AND E face wash, and my face has been so clear for a very long time - unless I indulge on my nighttime chocolate a few too many times.
I wish I had so more great stuff to talk about right now. Unfortunately I don't - but I will!!!

November and December 2010 - finally!
So, I still don't think I have one reader, or visitor, but that won't stop me. I need to keep on trecking. I am not too sure if its common but I go through serious fazes of being motivated, and then not, and then motivated again to keep this blog going.
I guess maybe I am not too sure which direction I want to go in. But I am going to post my last few notes, and then write on the fly. In the moment. It will make a difference I think.
So, here are my last few notes.

November 2010
I guess I deserve it. I have stayed here before and have had problems, but I decided to try again. I am at the Delta Montreal, and, in 2010, there is NO WIRELESS INTERNET??!!! WHAT???!!! How does that even make sense? On top of that, I am a Delta Privilege member, which means we get a certain amount of upgrades. I decided to try cash mine in on this stay, and I couldn’t, because they were full. I know they charge for a fridge, which is also ridiculous, so I thought they would at least be able to give me a complimentary fridge considering I couldn’t get the upgrade. Nope. $20.00 for the fridge. I don’t think so. They also lost my car and registered it under the wrong room number. I asked for a kettle, and was sent towels. What a great first day. Three more to come.
There is so much more I want to write about.
I have been so busy.
Dec 2010
I have searched high and dry for this!!! Every since I started BIKRAM YOGA, my skin has been driving me crazy. I have been breaking out and feeling really awful. I was getting awful welts on my neck, chin and cheeks. I have tried every acne treatment – which burned my skin, creams which left me oily with more break outs – you name it, I tried it. I went last week to a health food store and just bought a simple, cheap, Canadian, natural face cream.
It’s by the GREEN BEAVER COMPANY, and is the ANTIOXIDANT GREEN TEA AND SOOTHING ALOE cream. I can’t tell you how amazing it is and has basically cleaned up my skin. I put it on anytime I wash my face – you cannot put too much of it on. BUY IT! You will love it. Fragrance free, sensitive skin, 100% natural! And seeing as I have spent up to $40.00 on cream, this $12.99 cream is a breath of fresh air!
Chat soon,
I am loving my skin for the first time in a long long time!!!

July 28 2010 = getting closer
July 2010
I received my new MOLESKINE in the mail. Finally, the one I was promised. I am very happy and am already filling it with notes none-stop! And, I didn’t have to send back the wrong one that they sent me, so I made my friend happy yesterday and gave her a MOLESKINE – she needs one.
I still haven’t received any money from PORTER AIRLINES. I have emailed again asking about if they will be compensating any more than just the expenses based on the fact that we were out work days and overall had a bad experience. I have not heard back. It has almost been a month now. Nice.
JULY 28
Quick note. Funny. When I was in Edmonton last week I was at the WEST EDMONTON MALL and found my way over and up to the STARBUCKS. My gift card that I loaded up wasn’t swiping well, so the associate so kindly transferred the amount to another card. I was just at PEARSON AIRPORT and went to use the card and the cashier said there was no money left. That was it. No suggestions of what to do. No apology for the confusion. She basically said I had to go back to the WEST EDMONTON MALL location. I do not live in Edmonton. So. Case closed I guess. I lose that money.
Obviously, I will call the STARBUCKS location that changed the balance to another card, but I have a feeling nothing will happen. I will let you know.
You? Who? Who is reading this???
